Steal That Style: Back to School (Mini!) Backpacks There is nothing like helping (or watching!) your little one pack their backpack for the first day of school. In goes brand-new pencils, crayons, and any other little odds and ends they feel they will need once they cross through the big double doors on their own. While stocking the pack and setting it by the front door is an exciting step as it leads them that much closer to starting school, parents first must begin their quest for the perfect backpack suitable for their toddler.Read More

"We're crazy about the Four Peas toddler backpacks, which come in a range of colors and styles to let your little girl or guy express their personality - not advertise the latest character on TV. The size is just right for bitty shoulders, and the construction is exceptionally sturdy. Big kids aren't left out - there are school-age backpack, lunch bag, and messenger bag versions, too. Can you resist Funky Monkey? Or the orange and hot pink Rock Star design? We couldn't either.
Activity packs by Four Peas come in easy-open plastic cases with a carry handle. Inside, you'll find stickers, a pad with crayons, silly putty, and themed toys. Different versions are available for girls and boys, and these kits are ideal for keeping in the car when mom or dad needs to bring a kid to work unexpectedly, or when the "swing by" visit to your best friend's (aka the Land of No Toys) goes on forever." http://www.gocitykids.com

Planning some summer travel?
Whether long or short, car trips can be the bane of your existence (”When will we geeeet theeeere?”) or, if you plan right, they can be the making of some great memories.
The Four Peas Mini Sports Fan Activity Pack from Mom4Life is a great addition to your vehicle.
Intended for children aged three and up, this way cool activity pack comes in a cool plastic case with easy to use sliders and a convenient handle for carrying. The kit includes a pad of coloured paper, an activity pad, silly putty, crayons, make-a-race car sticker sheet, assorted stickers, a mini porcupine ball, a pull back race car, a notepad, a squishy frog, and magic springs. Enough to keep even the most hard-to-entertain kid busy for a few hours. (The “Girly Girl” kit is similar but includes different ‘girly’ stickers, a bracelet, a stamper & linking shapes instead of the stereotypical boy-ish goods.)
Once your child has used all of the goodies that came with it, the case is perfect to refill with toys and other activities to keep your car stocked and ready for the next trip. Great for the car, in restaurants, while waiting for appointments and anywhere else you need a little kiddie entertainment. It’s also perfect for taking into Aunt Myrtle’s house so she doesn’t make the kids count Q-tips for ‘fun.’
Twenty dollars for some sanity in a tidy little box. Count me in.

My daughter went through this stage when she was just short of a year where she would stuff all her toys in a little backpack and spend hours just emptying the bag and filling it back up again. As a parent, this was a wonderful stage to live through because it meant we could take her to parties without any worries since we knew that if we sat her down with her book-bag in hand she'd have a blast! As a result, I have a soft-spot for child-sized backpacks and the Four Peas Backpacks are, without a doubt, my favorites.
I love these backpacks so much that I actually own two of them. One of them (the Later Gator) goes to grandma's house everyday, and traveled to Europe with us last year, and it has stood the wear and tear of a year's use with zero problems. Our newest one (the Polka Dots) gets used on the weekends and now that Catie is old-enough to actually wear it on her back, it gets followed by lots of compliments.
The two backpacks we own are toddler sized but we will definitely be getting a school book sized one when the time comes. Not only are these packs sturdy but the prints are also adorable. I love the Girly Camo one!
Also totally brilliant and from the same company are the Kids Activity Packs. It was all I could do to keep it away from my daughter once she discovered there were dress-me-up stickers in there. I am saving it for a rainy day -- namely our six hour flight to Europe this summer! Filled with activities that kids can't resists (stickers, crayons, a doodle pad, toys, a deck of cards with instructions for a game and more) the Activity Pack is a MUST if you are planning a trip away with your child.

Like you, your kid can never have too many bags. If the last time you invested in a backpack was for back-to-school, maybe it’s time to think about investing in a new one for summer. We absolutely love the ones from Four Peas. Made from nylon with a zipper closure with funky patterns like monkeys, camoflauge and schools of fish, these fun bags come in sizes for school-aged children and their toddler-aged siblings.

If you read the message boards, you might have read that my family and I recently traveled to Europe. It was a rather ambitious adventure with two little ones in tow. But one thing that truly saved us was the exceptionally cute toddler backpack and activity pack from Four Peas.
Not only did my daughter proudly wear her backpack through the airport and on our many travels throughout Belgium (on the train and walking through the cities) she enjoyed bringing it to breakfast so she could unload the goodies from her activity pack. And when she did, children came from all over the restaurant to share in the fun. At one point, she was playing with a little boy from Australia and a girl from Italy. And while Ellie doesn't understand a lick of Italian and the little girl didn't understand a word of English, they all certainly bonded over the items in the Four Peas activity pack. Stickers apparently speak a universal language.
Now even though the Four Peas backpack was an asset on our big adventure, it is equally perfectly geared for those smaller everyday adventures to preschool, the grocery store and the library. Plus, right now Four Peas is offering one free mini-activity pack with purchase. Simply enter code FREE MINI in the comments section during checkout to receive this offer.

Four Peas is a hip place to find some cool gear for your kids and it’s “Mommy” owned. Casey Baca saw a void in the children’s market and set out to fill it by bringing together fun ideas for traveling tots and sweet clothing pieces. We love momprenuers and were excited to try out a few of her offerings. I was sent the Funky Monkey backpack from their site, it’s toddler sized and fits my 4 year old so well. This size is ideal for early reader sized books, and has an extra zippered pocket to bring along small toys and action figures. I like that the pack is very well made and durable with sturdy fabric, strong zippers and adjustable straps for good support. They offer several different styles for your child so their personality can shine through, everything from Monkeys, Sharks, Camo, Flowers, Frogs, Gators and more…several of them are on sale right now so it’s a good time to grab a pack for your pre-kindergarten kid (like my little man Brigs).Four Peas
Four Peas also offers fun activity packs to keep kids busy and happy on those long summer road trips. If you’re looking for some cute kiddo clothing you might want to pick up the “Hey Kids…Wally World!” tee, nothing says family travel like a trip to Wally World. They also have adorable camo and embroidered designs to keep them in traveling style this summer. Four Peas has cool stuff for hip kids!

Everybody's Happy
The day we received this Kids Travel Pack in the mail, my 19 month old daughter couldn't put it down. She would put it on, take it off, fill it with whatever she could reach, put it back on and then take it off again, only to unload it. She had so much fun and I got a good 20 minutes of computer time! She is happy, I am happy...everybody's happy!
These packs are offered in 11 different colors/patterns, most with a logo character that your kids will love. The packs are the perfect size for books, toys and activity packs that you can take along in the car, bring to appointments, or pack snacks in for the park!
The best thing about these packs is that they are designed for children 2 years+ at 11.25" tall, 10 " across and 4" across the bottom. Your kiddos can carry their own "treasures", leaving your purse free from their stuff. How nice is that? You may actually be able to find your keys without pulling out a doll, crayons, cars and a drawing pad!

Leader of the Pack
Recently Ruby has become fascinated with zippers and small bags. In my desperate attempt to get her a bag like her friend at school, (this is what I call daycare to make myself feel better) I went to the store but could only find a rather trashy looking plastic purse with a certain kitty on it. In my desperation to be a good mom and give my child her own little bag I purchased the pink nightmare, always keeping my eye out for something a bit more fabulous. When we found out about a new company with stylish bags for kids we were so excited.
Four Peas is of course a mother's invention which as you know are the best. The bags, while meant for children ages 3+ are perfectly fine for kids like Ruby who are ready to start schlepping their own things around. Perfect size, perfect color selection, just perfect. You know what else would be perfect? If Ruby used hers to carry her own diapers and wipes! There is an idea.
For now Ruby uses her pack to carry some activities and her lovey. The designers at www.KidsTravelPacks.com also create activity packs and very cute t-shirts. To be honest, while the bags are of superior quality and construction, I just can't get enough of the color choices. Light pink with lime trim, giant flower design, chocolate brown with a pink pig, these are not your average pack.

I love our Spots the Dog Backpack from Four Peas! It is the perfect size for my toddler to wear on his back and he looks so darn cute wearing it around. We love to fill it with some small books and toys to take to with us when we go out to eat or for a trip to our Mimi’s house. I had his initials monogrammed in blue on it, which looks adorable! They carry several patterns that are super for little boys, like Mini Moo and Hops the Frog. Little boys are natural collectors, so this bag is perfect for them to tote around all their treasures. Pick one up today as a great gift for your little guy!

Alex loves to carry a backpack. I'm not sure if it's a Dora the Explorer thing, or she just likes feeling like a big girl -- in any event, you can often find her walking around the house with a slightly-too-big backpack on her back. Oh, and her bicycle helmet.
You know, because it completes the look.
*sigh*
ANYway, check out these great backpacks from
Kidstravelpacks.com: they feature easy-to-clean interiors (and we all know how important that is), and are available in every colour scheme imaginable for a not-too-unreasonable US$24.95. It's unclear as to whether this company ships internationally.
And by the way, if you're stumped about what you should fill the backpack with, you can always take a look at the activity packs as well. Especially since, as a general rule, an entertained kid is a happy parent.

My toddler raced over as soon as I opened the package for Kid's Travel Packs. She grabbed the orange backpack, wanted me to help put it on, and sang "Backpack, backpack" as she danced around the room (yeah, she watches Dora once in awhile). These backpacks seem durable and well made and I like that they come in different solid colors and aren't plastered with characters. I hadn't thought to get a bag for her to put books and toys when we go out (I mean she just turned 2), but she enjoys wearing it so much, I'm going to let her do all the work and have her haul her own stuff.
Kid's Travel Packs also makes these Activity Packs that are chock full of stickers, small toys, and arts and craft supplies that may come in handy when you're travelling and pressed for time to put together your own activity pack.

Mama Loves...
Four Peas
The CiCy Mama has traveled with kids many times. From across states in a car, over the ocean in a plane, and even under the channel in a train, we've done it. After 6 years of hassling with finding just the right size carry-on that will fit on the said plane/train/automobiles, and one that the child himself can carry-on, I've finally found the solution. Four Peas! These colorful, sturdy little back packs are perfect for my little guys. My three-year-old especially likes the Mini Sports Fan backpack, because it's blue (obviously) and because it's "just my size mama!". At 11.25" tall and 10" across, these packs are perfect for little one's. I remember hunting all over town for a small pack for my son to take to daycare. I needed him (then 2 yrs old) to be able to carry it. It was such a headache! Had I only had a Kids' Travel Pack handy!
These packs have 1" wide shoulder straps plus a handle on the top. They also come with a convenient zippered pocket on the front - perfect for my eldest son's Game Boy, cartridges and CDs. I'm seriously considering strapping a pack onto each kid so that I don't have to carry my hideously large diaper bag any longer!
Another great feature are the Activity Packs, which you can also purchase from Four Peas. With three versions, Original [not available anymore], Mini Sports Fan and Girly Girl, you're sure to please your packer.
So no more trips all over town looking Ufor the right sized bag and all the goodies to put in it. Just go online from the comfort of your warm home and PJs, and visit www.kidstravelpacks.com. In a few clicks, you're ready for that next vacation, the start of daycare, or my favorite...overnight at Grandma's!
Exclusive reader deal! Free gift with purchase. Just put MYCICY in the Comments section at checkout.
Happy Travels!

These days, my son loves carrying or doing anything that he considers to be "adult." Carrying a bag or backpack is one of those things. Four Peas is a site that sells toddler-sized backpacks that are stylish and fun. They're designed for ages 2+, and they have plain colors with animals on them, or patterned backpacks.
